Renovation of a workshop kitchen
As soon as one enters this kitchen, one feels the charm of village life and a nod to stables of a century ago. This is exactly what the owners wanted – to relax from the stresses of their professional life in the nearby city and at the same time to meet the needs of their three very active and sports-loving teenagers.
So they made the decision to remodel the kitchen and dining room drastically, to “unpick” all the successive changes various previous owners had made over the years.
So in a way the kitchen/workshop went back to its basic concept but in a way that the original materials, wood, cement tiles and stove were preserved but with a lightening of the whole effect. Now the whole area has a fluidity, a proper entrance, a separate kitchen and a dining room that is no longer cramped as before.
Few partitions and the introduction of glass has made the whole space more open yet friendly and convivial.
